Sarah Scalese, Psy.D

Dr. Scalese is a licensed psychology associate in Washington DC. She received a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) in clinical psychology from La Salle University and has joined the practice following a postdoctoral fellowship at Georgetown University’s Counseling and Psychiatric Service. She completed her doctoral internship at Rutgers University Counseling, Alcohol & Other Drug Assistance and Psychiatric Services, where she specialized in the treatment of body image concerns and disordered eating. She received additional graduate training at the University of Pennsylvania, at both the Center for Psychotherapy Research, and the Outpatient Psychiatry Center. She utilizes evidenced-based interventions within a cognitive behavioral model, and integrates dialectical behavioral therapy skills and principles of acceptance and commitment therapy. Her work focuses on the unique strengths and values each of her clients possess. Dr. Scalese’s clinical interests include body image and disordered eating, anxiety disorders, depression, and interpersonal relationships.
